Special Olympics Manitoba is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Directors!


Who We Are:
Special Olympics Manitoba is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities through sport. With thousands of athletes, coaches, and volunteers across the province, we offer year-round programming that fosters inclusion, health, and personal achievement.


About the Board:
The Board of Directors plays a key role in providing strategic leadership, ensuring strong governance and advocating for the mission of Special Olympics Manitoba.


We are seeking candidates who represent any of the following:
• Are caregivers or family members of an athlete in our programs.
• Have experience as a coach with Special Olympics.
• Are experienced in competitive sport.
• Are professionals with expertise in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) or relevant educational backgrounds.
• Have experience in leadership, strategic planning, and organizational growth.

   
Skills Required:

We are seeking candidates who represent any of the following:

Time Commitment:

Commitment & Expectations
• Term: Multi-year commitment (quarterly meetings).
• Location: Manitoba (remote participation available).
• Responsibilities: Provide strategic guidance, offer governance oversight, advocate for the organization, support organizational development, and engage with the community.
• Required to have a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
