Organizational Description: We are a Thrift Shop, with over 350 volunteers who give generously of their time to sort, clean, and price the donated products, we work hard to get affordable products onto the floor for our customers. We donate to MCC and local community organizations that provide programs, outreach, and support to those who are vulnerable and in need.

Description of Duties:

As a Donation Receiver, you'll be part of a welcoming team that helps ensure all incoming donations are handled with care and directed to the right areas of the store. Your responsibilities may include:




  • Greeting donors and accepting donations



  • Sorting and placing items into appropriate department areas (clothing, linens, books, housewares, etc.)



  • Helping move bins or boxes to sorting and processing areas



  • Assisting with basic cleanup and maintaining the receiving area



  • Supporting staff and other volunteers as needed



  • Light lifting and organizing tasks



  • Helping to keep the donation area safe and tidy


   
Skills Required:


  • Ability to work as part of a team



  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions



  • A friendly and welcoming attitude toward donors and customers



  • Comfortable with physical work (moving bins, lifting)



  • Reliable and punctual

The thrift shop is open Monday to Saturday, 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. Expectations for shifts are generally 4 hours. It can be 9:00 am to 12:30 or 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
