Organizational Description: Prairie Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre Inc. (PWRC) is a non-profit charity organization whose main goal is to treat injured and orphaned wildlife in Manitoba and to successfully release them back into their natural habitat. To maximize survival rates and ensure integration once in the wildlife population, PWRC uses effective and state of the art rehabilitation techniques, such as integrative medical therapies, including both conventional and homeopathic medications, as well as attention to environmental enrichment techniques. The PWRC also takes an active role in public education regarding wildlife issues. We are located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Description of Duties:

​Volunteering for the Walk for Wildlife fundraiser involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the event's success and supporting wildlife conservation efforts. Key duties include:​




  • Sponsorship Outreach: Identifying and contacting potential new sponsors to secure financial or in-kind support for the event. This may involve researching local businesses, drafting proposals, and maintaining communication with sponsors.​



  • Event Planning and Brainstorming: Collaborating with the organizing team to develop innovative ideas that enhance the walk experience, increase participant engagement, and improve fundraising outcomes. This could include suggesting themes, activities, or promotional strategies.​



  • Event Day Assistance: Providing on-the-ground support during the event, such as setting up and dismantling event infrastructure, registering participants, guiding attendees along the walk route, distributing materials, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.​



The time commitment involves attending one meeting per month, with the possibility of more frequent meetings as the event date approaches.
