Description of Duties:

  • Set up and put away all necessary bar equipment, including beverages and glassware.

  • Assist customers in selecting beverages and serve to their table or seating area.

  • Calculate purchases to be charged to trust accounts or paid in cash. Record all purchases on forms provided.

  • Keep record of items sold for inventory purposes, using forms provided.

  • Notify staff of any requests you receive for items that are not currently carried or other service suggestions made by customers.

  • Keep the work area tidy at all times. Wipe counter tops and tables and wash/put away glassware and serving equipment.

  • Accurately follow cash handling procedures using forms supplied by Misericordia Health Centre.

  • Follow all Manitoba Liquor Control Commission regulations and Misericordia Health Centre policies for the resident bar service as outlined in the bar service manual.

  • Adhere to policies outlined in Volunteer Essentials.

  • Notify all required persons regarding absences.

  • Report concerns in a timely manner.

  • Other duties as assigned by staff.

   
Skills Required:

  • Mature, responsible and able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Previous experience assisting in a retail/service setting preferred.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Ability to work 3-4 hours at a time while standing.

  • Over 18 years of age.

  • No criminal record (transcript from Winnipeg Police Service required).

  • Serving It Safe certification (or be willing to obtain).
