Description of Duties: | Superwalk is the largest annual fundraiser for Parkinson Canada, an important and ever-expanding resource for Canadians living with Parkinson's and their care partners. SuperWalk Coordinators play a pivotal role in raising awareness and funds for people living with Parkinson's. They champion and lead the coordination of SuperWalk in communities, from start to finish, with support from Parkinson Canada staff. As a SuperWalk Coordinator, your people-skills, enthusiasm, and talent for organizing make you an excellent community facilitator. You enjoy guiding and mentoring other volunteers and helping them excel at their tasks. As someone who loves event logistics, you excel at key tasks, including:

Skills Gained/Related Careers: | As a volunteer SuperWalk Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to develop your leadership potential and project management skills in a context outside of regular employment. Micro Volunteering - any self contained volunteer opportunity that can be completed in a short amount of time, often through a web-enabled device. Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours The time commitment for this opportunity is approximately 6-8 hours per month between March and October. The Event Coordinator will attend monthly meetings and post event wrap-up. They will also attend the event which is usually held in early September. |
