Organizational Description: The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of Manitoba (APEGM) was established on March 27, 1920 by The Engineering and Geoscientific Professions Act to regulate the profession of engineering in Manitoba. In 1998 the Manitoba Legislature expanded the association's mandate to regulate professional geoscientists in Manitoba. In September 2015 the operating name of the association changed to Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba.
The purposes of the association are to:
- Govern and regulate the practice of professional engineering and professional geoscience in Manitoba.
- Promote and increase, by all lawful means and in the public interest, the knowledge, skill, and competency of its members and students in all things relating to the professions of engineering and geoscience.
- Advocate where the public interest is at risk.

Description of Duties:

-Responsible for reviewing applicants for professional engineering and geoscience registration and licensure.


-Appointees serve a 2-year term, renewable twice up to six years.


-Meetings are held on the last Wednesday of the month, 12-2 pm.


-Meetings are conducted virtually, although hybrid/in-person meetings may be held.


-Reading is required in advance of meetings to review applicant documents and registration policies and make recommendations on applications.

-Members of the public must not be registered with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba


-Possess good analytical and critical thinking skills


-Understands the Association's mandate to serve and protect public interest


-Able to work effectively as a team towards consensus


-Have reliable computer and internet access


-Proficient computer skills and ability to work in Word software and products including Outlook


-Able to serve the duration of the appointment term
