Description of Duties:

Breast Health Clinic Volunteer Shifts take place between business hours, Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm).



  • Interact with the clients and their families in a calming and friendly manner during their appointment at the BHC

  • Orientate the clients and their families to the anticipated flow of events planned for their appointment

  • Inform the clients and their families of basic amenities (bathroom facilities, drinking water, telephone, parking, etc.) available at the BHC

  • Assist staff members in facilitating the efficient flow of clients through the scheduled components of the client's appointment

  • Assist staff members with related duties as assigned

Skills Required:

  • Willingness to attend virtual WRHA volunteer orientation and role specific training both virtual and in person and renew training as directed

  • Ability and comfortable with approaching people in a friendly, supportive manner; comfortable with people from different cultures and backgrounds

Learn new skills, explore careers, and make a personal contribution to the improvement of health care while providing a service to others.

Time Commitment:

Recruited volunteers must be available, and willing to commit to a minimum of four shifts (3 to 4 hours in length) per month to assist and support staff with clinics. Monthly scheduling is confirmed 4 to 6 weeks in advance with ability to pick up extra shifts as additional clinics are scheduled.
