Description of Duties:

Do you love dogs? We need you! Puppy raising and boarding is a rewarding volunteer opportunity filled with unconditional love that changes many lives - including yours!

Volunteers are a critical part of our guide dog program. Guide dogs are partners in mobility and independence for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. By offering a safe and loving home, puppy raisers and boarders are instrumental in nurturing and preparing young pups for their future role as guide dogs.

With support from amazing CNIB Guide Dog staff, you'll help a pup learn good home and social behaviours, teach them basic obedience, and introduce them to new environments. CNIB Guide Dogs covers the costs of all veterinary care, equipment and dog food.

We are actively seeking volunteers in Vancouver (BC), Victoria (BC), Calgary (AB), Winnipeg (MB), Toronto (ON), Georgina (ON), Ottawa & Carleton Place (ON), and Halifax (NS).

We offer short-term and long-term volunteer opportunities; previous experience with dogs is not required. If you're eager to learn and want to help transform the life of someone who is blind, the CNIB Guide Dogs team is here to provide you with support and training, so you can feel confident in your volunteer role.
