Description of Duties:

Looking for a leadership role where you can make a meaningful impact? Actionmarguerite St. Vital is looking for a Canteen & Bar Manager to oversee their bar experience for our residents, their families, and friends. Actionmarguerite is a long term care home providing care to seniors in the St. Vital area. The Canteen and Bar is an area where residents can come and feel at home. Having drinks or snacks with their loved ones.


Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Count and record inventory of stock on a regular basis





  • Complete a monthly inventory and inform the staff point of contact when an order is required for alcohol, pop and juice and all other supplies





  • Stock fridge and storage cupboards





  • Arrange for the return of empty beer bottles to stores





  • Schedule volunteers to work in on a monthly basis





  • Coordinate training of new volunteers


   
Skills Required:


  • Minimum 21 years old





  • Patient, flexible, and punctual





  • Active listener who can listen without giving advice





  • Good people skills to talk with residents, family, staff, and volunteers





  • Caring, compassionate, and committed





  • Able to follow directions and show good judgment





  • Works well with the team





  • Satisfactory Criminal Record, Adult Abuse Registry, and Child Abuse Registry Checks (for individuals aged 18 and above)





  • Acceptable reference checks


   
Skills Gained/Related Careers:

Skills Gained: Customer service, communication, cash handling, and teamwork.


Related Careers: Bartender, server, hospitality and dietary aide.

Time Commitment:
Daytime

Shifts are from 1:45pm - 4:15pm.
2-3 Shifts a Week
