Appearance Attendant

• Prepare station (as necessary) including: pop-up canopy tent, display stands, standing banner, A-frame sign, table covers and decor, and display and organization of provided materials

• Greet and assist attendees visiting the station

• Be able to provide information or recite from given prompts when communicating with attendees and promoting the convention

• Take information and payments for membership draws or purchases, providing change if needed

• Fill out timesheets and return to binder at the end of each shift

Appearance attendants are the friendly face at the Keycon table, they are tasked with creating an inviting and welcoming atmosphere.

Attendants greet anyone passing by or approaching the table. They provide basic information, and offer hand-out resources to those interested. They also can direct people to the website and inform on upcoming events, online activity, or other appearances.

Attendants assist with the setup and teardown of the table setup, as required. This can include setup of a popup tent, display stands, or organizing of provided table display materials.

They may be required to take down information for membership draws, and membership purchases. They will also be asked to fill out a volunteer timesheet and return it to the binder at the end of each attending shift

• Fluency in spoken and written English is essential, legibility in writing is preferred.

• Familiarity with many fandoms of nerdy pop culture is a major asset

• Friendly demeanor and comfortable starting conversations

• Comfort with crowds or speaking to the public is preferred
