Description of Duties: | Looking for vounteers who will take pride in hosting this prestigious national tournament, and with whom it will run smoothly and be memorable and enjoyable for all. The tournament will be held at The Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex - 900 Waverley Street, Winnipeg. Volunteer positions: SET UP AND TAKE DOWN OF VENUE (Set-up and take down of tents, tables, chairs, podiums, signage) MANNING WELCOME AND REGISTRATION DESK PROVIDING GUEST SERVICES CHANGE ROOM MAINTENANCE VENUE AND FACILITIES MAINTENANCE (this will include site clean-up) MERCHANDISE SALES RUNNING MISCELLANEOUS ERRANDS WITHIN THE FACILITY |
Skills Required: | Volunteer must have a friendly and helpful demeanor, a "can-do!" attitude, be a good listener and communicator, be prompt and re-act quickly, be organized and juggle several tasks at the same time, be accountable, and arrive on-time. Those willing to volunteer and are under the age of 18 will require authorization to participate from their parent or legal guardian. When applying, please note whether you have recently obtained and will provide us with a criminal record check and/or child abuse registry check. |
Skills Gained/Related Careers: | Time committed can be used for High School Volunteer for Credit Programs, and for Scholarships and Bursaries applications. Experience gained for those in event planning, in the sport,leisure and entertainment industry, and in public relations. Experience of being an integral part of a historical sporting event. |

Time Commitment: | Daytime , Evening , Weekend , Flexible Hours VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE TO BE DETERMINED BY THE FINAL TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE AND WILL BE CONFIRMED BY JULY 7TH. WHEN APPLYING, PLEASE NOTE YOUR TIME COMMITMENT AND AVAILABILITY. 4 hour and 8 hour shifts: Commit to as long and to as many shfts as you'd be willing and able Shift Start and End Times (tentative): Thursday, August 1, 2024: 4pm to 8pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 2 to 4, 2024: shifts could start as early as 7:30am, and the last shift should end by 9:30pm Monday, August 5, 2024: shifts could start as early as 7:30am, and the last shift should end by 2pm Volunteers will be notified of their shifts and duties by July 26, 2024. |
