Organizational Description: B'nai Brith Canada will be opening the Kavod thrift store in July 2024. We will function as a regular thrift shop, open to the public, with every purchase directly supporting our most vulnerable community through a variety of programs.

Description of Duties:

Kavod thrift will be opening mid to late July. We are seeking volunteers to assist in a varieties of positions. Training in all departments will be provided prior to the store opening, as well as ongoing as we grow!


Sales Floor/Customer Service:


Responsible for assisting customers, answering questions, updating displays, and general organizing and upkeep of the retail space. Trained volunteers in this department will also assist with ringing up purchases.


Sorting Room


Assess donated items, quality check, organize into categories, pricing (The Manager will ultimately decide how merchandise will be priced. Item prices cannot be altered without a manager's review and decision).


Special Events


On event day, we will require volunteers to assist with various roles. We will email and post in the Volunteer Hub details of the event and tasks/roles available.


Pick-up Donations Driver


The volunteer will be responsible for driving to the homes of donors who are interested in donating and unable to drop off at Kavod.

  • Store hours: Sunday to Thursday from 10am - 5pm

  • The store will be closed on Fridays, Saturdays, and certain holidays


Two shifts:


9:45 AM to 1 PM


1:00 PM to 5:15 PM



  • We ask volunteers to commit to at least one full weekly shift
