Organizational Description: 1JustCity is an organization that supports three drop-in community centres in Winnipeg's core neighbourhoods: West Broadway, Osborne Village, and Central. Our services include daily meals, art, senior's programs, sharing circles, haircuts, showers, laundry, toiletries, and clean undergarments. In the winter months we also run the pop up warming centre in Osborne Village: Just a Warm Sleep.

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED
An undertaking of this magnitude requires the support of a great many volunteers. Here are the volunteer opportunities available as of May 8 ,2024 for this year's Garden Tour, Tea, Craft & Plant Sale.


Garden Hosts for 15 gardens - Saturday, June 22, 2024
Each garden will have two garden hosts. Hosts will greet visitors, check tickets, and answer guests' questions if
able (although gardening knowledge is not required). We ask that hosts bring their own lawn chair (if possible).
- 2 volunteers are needed at each garden in the morning (9:45 am - 1:00 pm) (9 volunteers)
- 2 volunteers are needed at each garden in the afternoon (12:45 - 4:00 pm) (26 volunteers) Please note -
we find it more difficult to fill the afternoon shifts.)


Plant Sale Drop Off - Friday, June 21, 2024
This is a physical role - volunteers will be receiving/bringing in donated plants.
- 1 volunteer (10:00 am - 12 noon)


Garden Tour Ticket Sales - Saturday, June 22, 2024
Seated at a table, volunteers will greet guests, sell Garden Tour tickets, and answer guests' questions.
 2 volunteers for pre-sale ticket pickup (9:30 am - 12 noon)
 2 volunteers (9:30 am - 12:30 pm)


Tea Servers
Volunteers will assist the Tea Chairperson with preparing and serving the tea. Afternoon volunteers will assist with
clean-up once the tea is over.
- 1 volunteer (9:00 am - 12 noon)
- 1 volunteer (12:00 noon - 3:00 pm)


Table Bussers
Volunteers will clear tables of dirty dishes.
- 2 volunteers (10:00 am - 12:30 pm)
- 2 volunteers (12:30 - 3:00 pm)


Dishwashers
Volunteers will wash and put away dishes.
- 2 volunteers (10:00 am - 12:30 pm)
- 2 volunteers (12:30 - 3:00 pm)


Craft Sale
Set-Up Assistants - will help crafters move their wares into the venue.
- 2 volunteers (8:00 - 9:45 am)


Parking Attendants
Volunteers will be monitoring parking lot flow, and if parking lot full, will direct cars to alternate parking.
- 1 volunteer (9:30 am - 12 noon)
- 2 volunteers (12 noon - 2:00 pm)


Venue Take Down - Saturday, June 22, 2024
This is a physical role - volunteers will be taking down folding tables, unstacking/moving chairs, in order to restore
the venue to its original set up.
- 2 volunteers (2:30 to 3:30 pm)
