Organizing a Terry Fox Run may be one of the most meaningful roles you will ever undertake! We provide everything you need to organize the Run, the cost to you is nothing, and we will be with you every step of the way.

As a Terry Fox Run Organizer, you represent Terry's mission - you inspire, motivate and lead your team and carry Terry's vision and philosophy in your hearts and make it come to life in your community. We continue to follow Terry's vision and principles today in our run policies and guidelines.

Our vision is to bringing Canadians together to realize Terry Fox's dream of a world without cancer. Driven by Terry's courage and determination, we collaborate with and inspire people around the world to support and fund-raise for bold, extraordinary research to end cancer.

Key Responsibilities of a Terry Fox Run Organizer:

Host the annual Terry Fox Run in your community to be fun, safe, inclusive and non-competitive. To support participants in their efforts to fund-raise for cancer research.

Build a support team or committee, with friends family and other volunteers to help with tasks.

Assign roles and tasks to the support team members or committee members, based on skill set, interests, and local needs.

Oversee all operations of your Terry Fox Run through guidance, leadership and management of the committee members and volunteers.

Become a Run Organizer and you get to join hundreds of fellow volunteers who help make The Terry Fox Run one of the world's largest single-day fundraiser for cancer research in the world! Make new friends, gain insight into the greatest fight of a lifetime and receive our thanks for your commitment to eradicating this disease.

Peak organization months are April through September with opportunity for ongoing promotion of the Run throughout the year.

During peak months, 1 - 3 hours per week can be expected for ongoing support of the Terry Fox Run Organizer and Committee volunteers starting immediately until the end of September and the day of the run, September 15, 2024.
