Organizational Description: We are a provincial chapter of an international philanthropic education organization with ~250,000 members in Canada and the United States. Manitoba has about 400 members. Our mission is to financially assist and support local women of all ages and stages of life in pursuing their post-secondary education from diplomas up to to PhD's.

Description of Duties:

The executive board assistant reports to the vice president of the provincial board and is tasked with a variety of duties such as:
*Drafting the bi-annual E-Sister Newsletter- Spring and Fall

*Developing and drafting presentation materials for the fall Leadership Workshop

*Developing, drafting, and formatting Spring Convention materials for workshops, presentations, programs, handouts etc

*Collaborating with Technology and Communications
committee in marketing events for social media page

*Composing content for and uploading approved content P.E.O. MB-NWON's social media pages.

*Assisting provincial board members, when necessary, in drafting and formatting documents.

   
Skills Required:

*Proficient with either MAC or PC platforms (needs their own computer)
*Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
*Advanced experience in developing effective presentations would be considered an asset.
*Experience using social media- including Facebook and Instagram
*Strong oral/written communication skills
*Detail oriented
*Ability to work with timelines and reliably meet deadlines
*Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement
*Ability to commit to position for 6-12 months

Assigned work can be completed on a flexible schedule, as long as it is completed by the deadline. There may be need of technology assistance for a specific time/date over the course of the year but notice will be given ahead of time for these situations.
Weekly time commitment for this position, depending on board requirements, could be between 5-10 hrs.
