| Organizational Description: | Saving Audio is a completely volunteer run environmental group whose goal is to preserve unwanted or inoperable audio electronics items and keep them in re-use, rather than being recycled. Items we receive are tested for operation and assessed for viability or parts purposes. The parts components are retained to potentially get other non-working items functional again. Working items are then freely given to locally created and operated non-profits to assist them with continuing in their community social functions. Any items considered non-repairable are donated to the e-waste program of Equal Opportunities West, an employment agency for the developmentally disabled. We are looking for driver volunteers who can pick up and drop off small e-waste loads from time to time, perhaps twice a month. We also require advocates for our organization; individuals who can inform members of the general populace that there is a different e-waste option available to them. Interested individuals must be flexible with their availability. The work is sporadic, but straightforward and rewarding! |
