Excel in your current leadership role or rise through the ranks of your organization by cultivating the set of teambuilding, innovation and self-management skills that is needed in today's dynamic non-profit sector. This course is designed for those who are planning on, or have just begun leading a non-profit program or volunteer team. In this course you will develop skills to prepare you for your new environment and the pressures faced by the non-profit sector. You will move forward with an informed and strengthened foundation, critical leadership competencies, and new resources that will help strengthen you own leadership journey. This course is required to complete Volunteer Manitoba's Emerging Leaders Program.
This workshop runs October 26, November 2, & November 9, 2022 - 9:00 am to 4:00 pm each day
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this program, you will be able to:
- Explain the environmental forces and pressures that will challenge non-profit leadership in the coming decade
- Describe the difference between management and leadership and assess your current leadership competency levels against those needed in today's non-profit environment
- Use your organization's values, vision and mission to build an engaged, adaptive team
- Think strategically to encourage innovation, problem-solve and make decisions in a dynamic environment
- Evaluate your emotional intelligence to create a climate of trust and authenticity
- Identify strategies to manage your time and stress so you can persevere through complexity and ambiguity
- Practice communication techniques to manage conflict and build constructive relationships

New Executive Directors, Program managers, volunteer managers, coordinators and anyone who is interested in developing their leadership skills.
Facilitator Bio:
Adesuwa Ero is a PMP Certified Project Manager and management consultant with 10+ years of teaching, project/programs management, career coaching and business development experience in non-profit, academic, and private sectors combined.
She is the Visionary and Principal Consultant of SE Integration Solutions, a management consulting organization that specializes in project management, career coaching and leadership / management consulting for individuals and growing businesses.
She is also a leadership coach and trainer. She helps strategically position individuals new to management or some form of supervisory role, to become phenomenal industry leaders even if they are only just beginning, that will earn them the respect of the teams they lead, help them build meaningful relationships, increase performance outcomes, and scale up the corporate ladder.
