Strategies for Building Partnerships and Networking

Leading in the non-profit sector requires the skill to build partnerships and networks to further the organization's mission and impact. In this workshop you will learn to identify what partnerships are advantageous and how to lay the framework for a successful partnership. Communication and conflict resolution techniques within this context will also be introduced. This workshop is a part of Volunteer Manitoba's Emerging Leaders Program.
Learning Objectives:
- Identification and definition of a partnership - what makes a partnership?
- Participants will improve and increase their knowledge and understanding of why and when to consider a partnership with another organization.
- The challenges to consider when beginning a partnership with another non-profit organization and/or for profit organization.
- The importance of leadership, building teams, communication and dealing with conflict in the overall details of a partnership will be discussed.
- The importance of volunteers to non-profits and partnerships.
- Networking skills for your organization to build stronger partnerships within and beyond your non-profit.
- A short discussion on the identification of Advocacy and how it can benefit your organization, your partnership opportunities.

Executive Directors, Board members, Program managers, Volunteer managers, Coordinators and others interested in this topic.
Facilitator
As the owner/principal of Building Up, Wendy Bulloch is an experienced team leader and has been identified as a "process builder" to people and organizations in various capacities including: an Executive Director, leader, partnership builder, project manager and a facilitator and trainer. Wendy has served on a variety of boards and board committees over the past 25+ years in Manitoba and across Canada. She was the recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for her volunteer work with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
