Management Fundamentals (3 days)

Elevate your HR management knowledge and skills by gaining a solid foundation to hire, develop and supervise non-profit staff in accordance with employment and safety legislation.
*This course runs Tuesdays, November 22, 29 and December 6, 2022, 9:00am to 4:00pm each day
(Readings and some coursework is required between sessions)
This course is designed for those who are planning on, or have just begun leading a team of staff or volunteers. In this course you will develop skills to build and manage a strong team in your new environment ready for the pressures faced by the non-profit sector. This course is required to complete Volunteer Manitoba's Emerging Leaders Program.

Facilitator:
Janice Goldsborough, CPHR, has a wide range of experience in human resources spanning over 27 years. She is president of The HR Basics and focuses on providing relevant advice and comprehensive knowledge in the areas of recruitment, change management, employee retention, labour relations, organizational development, compensation, and training in both the corporate and non-profit sectors.
Janice is a recognized expert in the field of Human Resource management for the non-profit and agricultural sectors and has taught in the Arts Faculty at Brandon University, at Red River College and currently teaches Human Resources courses at the University of Winnipeg, University of Manitoba, MITT and Booth University College. Janice earned her degree in Labour Studies from the University of Manitoba, a certificate in Human Resources from Red River College and a Masters' degree from Athabasca University.

To participate, you will need a computer/mobile device with internet connection, speakers and microphone. A webcam is preferred but optional.
