Are you, or do you know, a budding volunteer?
Here are a few steps to help get started.
- Volunteering should be fun. Think about what interests you and what skills you'd like to use while volunteering.
- Visit the volunteer opportunities page on our website.
- Carefully read through the description of the organization and the volunteer opportunity to find roles that are a good match to your interests.
- Apply using the online form or contact information usually located at the bottom of the webpage We suggest applying to at least 3 opportunities to better your chances of getting contacted for an interview or conversation about the opportunity.
Is this a good place to volunteer?
Some things to look for that will tell you if you'll have a good experience are:
- Does the organization provide orientation and training so you're prepared and set up for success.?
- Do you know ahead of time if the role requires references and police checks so your application isn't delayed?
- Does the role mention on-going supervision, follow-up and feedback from the organization so you feel supported in your new role?
We wish you the best in your search for a volunteer opportunity!
