Description of Duties:

Provide support for staff and clients to deliver a Spring/Summer gardening program "Green Thumbs"


Complete projects as per instructions. Plant, water, weed, and maintain plants/flowers with clients. Assist with other gardening related projects (decor, pot painting, row markers etc)


supervise and support safe client transport to and from the solarium located on the 7th floor. Address any safety concerns with staff in a timely manner. Follow directions with care.

   
Skills Required:

comfortable with gardening, or posses the ability to gain competence as necessary. Respectful of diverse cultures, interest in health care, enthusiastic learner, team player with the ability to work independently. Positive and confident attitude. Patience, tolerance and empathy. Physical ability to stand, walk or sit for long periods of time. Able to assist clients using wheelchairs. Good communication skills, including listening and social interaction. Ability to pay attention to detail. work with minimal supervision when needed/necessary.

Time Commitment:
Daytime

Monday to Friday 10am-12noon. Teams of two are welcome. Option to select a few days per week can be discussed.


Role is only open May to end of September.
