Organizational Description: | The Wolseley Farmers Market is a community based, food-first market with the goal of supporting local small business owners and providing high quality goods and nutritious locally produced food and drinks. Our market hosts around 40 vendors daily, every Tuesday and Thursday during the spring, summer and fall. The reach of our market has grown drastically over the years, now attracting hundreds of market shoppers from all over the province. We aim to include vendors who meet our qualifications, such as food based, locally produced, handmade, sustainable, waste-free, and/or unique. We believe the Wolseley Farmers Market has become a crucial component of the community where folks can rely on us for their groceries and personal needs. |

Description of Duties: | The Wolseley Farmers Market is looking for someone who is passionate about community, entrepreneurship, and food! You will be taking part in a small team and working one-on-one with the Market Director as well as remotely to assist in a variety of duties: - Social Media Marketing. Instagram and Facebook are our main platforms where we post about each market day and other exciting events. This will include creating posts, graphics, photography mostly from your own smart phone. - Market Coordination. You will be outdoors at times to ensure the market runs smoothly and vendors find their spots at the beginning of the day. - Administration. Most communications with businesses and community partners happen via email. |
Skills Required: | - Proficiency in spoken and written English. - Some experience with Google Suites ( Gmail, Sheets ). - Some experience with graphic design, social media management helpful but not required. - A creative mindset. - Good problem solving skills. |

Time Commitment: | Remote Volunteering , Flexible Hours Applicants must communicate with the Director what days and times work best for them. There is flexibility in hours worked but proper communication is crucial. The market runs every Tuesday and Thursday from 1- 7pm including setup and take down hours. Other administrative tasks can be accomplished remotely during agreed upon days and times. |
