Description of Duties:

Engage and activate across every level - fundraising, awareness, and action

ShelterBox Canada is an organization made up of people who believe in shelter as a human right - that shelter from the chaos of disaster and conflict is vital. Last year only one in five families worldwide received the support they needed following disaster. At ShelterBox, we are impatient to create a world where no family is without shelter when disaster strikes. Together, we are making an impact and you are a critical part of our movement.

As a ShelterBox Canada Ambassador you provide the link between people who need support and those who want to give it. Ambassadors are the face of ShelterBox Canada in their community and aim to raise awareness and funds about our work. We're looking for people who are friendly, reliable, self-driven and are good communicators. Above all, you need to have an enthusiasm for spreading the word and rallying support for ShelterBox Canada within your local community. Whether Ambassadors are making presentations, hosting events, or simply chatting up ShelterBox at the office, these volunteers are the heart of our organization.

Commitment:

Build relationships with local organizations, groups, schools, etc. to encourage them to support ShelterBox

Speak at events and give presentations about the work ShelterBox does globally to ensure no family is without shelter

Identify and develop fundraising and promotional opportunities within your area

Organize for ShelterBox to be at local events

Activate in times of disaster - when major disasters strike, families need our help more than ever. During this time we need the support of our volunteers to share important updates about our current response. We need your support to share these urgent updates with your network and help us to raise funds and awareness while the disaster is in the media spotlight
